Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller Dhurandhar has emerged as a massive cinematic force, crossing the ₹710 crore mark at the worldwide box office within just 14 days of its release. As of Friday, December 19, 2025, the film has officially surpassed the lifetime collections of Rajinikanth’s 2.0 (₹691 crore), making it one of the fastest Indian films to achieve this feat.

Breaking Records and Climbing the Charts

In its first two weeks, the film showed an extraordinary trend rarely seen in big-budget cinema: its Week 2 collection (₹253 crore) surpassed its Week 1 earnings (₹207 crore). This surge is attributed to stellar word-of-mouth and high repeat viewership.

Currently, the film stands at #16 on the list of highest-grossing Indian films of all time. It has already beaten recent heavyweights like Salaar, Gadar 2, and Sultan.

The Road to Top 10

To enter the prestigious all-time Top 10 list, Dhurandhar must cross the ₹915 crore mark, currently held by Animal. Analysts suggest that if the film maintains its current momentum, it could soon overtake Aamir Khan’s PK (₹792 crore) and Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava (₹808 crore) to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025.

New Challenges: Avatar & The Christmas Wave

Despite its “bulletproof” run, Dhurandhar faces its toughest challenge yet. James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash released today (Friday), taking over most IMAX and premium screens across India. Additionally, the upcoming release of Kartik Aaryan’s Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri on December 25 will further divide the screen count.

However, with a sequel already scheduled for March 19, 2026, the franchise has firmly established itself as a new pillar of Indian action cinema.
