The buzz surrounding Dhurandhar continues to grow months after the release of both films in the franchise, with fresh hints now suggesting that the makers may not be done with the universe just yet.
Co-producer Jyoti Deshpande recently teased an upcoming surprise linked to the franchise while speaking to Bollywood Hungama, sparking widespread speculation among fans.
“We’re not done with Dhurandhar yet. We’ll hopefully have a surprise for the audience later this year. There’s something up our sleeves,” she said.
Her statement has reignited conversations around the future of the ambitious action-thriller franchise created by filmmaker Aditya Dhar and fronted by Ranveer Singh.
Making Of Dhurandhar Reportedly Headed To OTT
Following the massive box office success of both Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge, reports suggest that the makers are now planning to release a special behind-the-scenes documentary or making-of feature on OTT.
The project is expected to showcase:
- High-octane stunt preparations
- Intense action choreography
- Script development sessions
- Unseen footage from the sets
- Candid interactions between cast and crew
The feature is reportedly being designed to give audiences a closer look at how the large-scale spy-action franchise was created.
However, official details regarding the title, format and release date are still under wraps.
Dhurandhar 2 Lands Massive OTT Deal
The sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, has reportedly secured a massive digital rights agreement worth around Rs 155 crore with JioHotstar, making it one of the biggest OTT acquisitions for a Hindi film franchise in recent years.
Interestingly, the first instalment of the franchise had streamed on Netflix, making the shift in streaming partners another major talking point among industry watchers.
What Dhurandhar 2 Is About
In the sequel, Ranveer Singh reprises his role as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who fully embraces his darker alter ego, Hamza Ali Mazari.
After eliminating Rehman Dakait in the first film, Jaskirat’s journey continues deep inside Karachi’s criminal underworld, where he earns the feared title of “Sher-e-Baloch.”
The film also dives deeper into the protagonist’s past and explores how Ajay Sanyal, played by R. Madhavan, recruited him for a dangerous covert mission.
Alongside Ranveer Singh and Madhavan, the sequel also stars:
- Arjun Rampal
- Rakesh Bedi
- Sara Arjun
