Aamir Khan’s brother Faissal has made a series of explosive and deeply personal claims, alleging years of “torture” and “jealousy” from the superstar.

August 20, 2025: Actor Faissal Khan, who is the estranged brother of superstar Aamir Khan, has made a number of shocking new claims that have revived a long-running family rivalry. Faissal told Hindustan Times in a recent interview that his family, especially his brother Aamir, had kept him locked up at home, forced him to take medication, and called him “mad.” Now, he alleges that Aamir used his authority and influence to force him to give up his signing rights, which he says would have taken away all of his rights as a person.

Faissal said that the “torture” started in 2003 and got worse in 2005 when Aamir, with the help of the police and a doctor, reportedly pushed him into a nursing facility and put him on medication against his choice. “In 2007, he wanted me to sign something… And that would have made me nothing as a person. “Giving up your signatory rights means giving up all your rights,” Faissal said. He said this was the last straw that made him leave the house and battle his family. To “safeguard” himself and his “dignity,” he severed off all links with them.

Faissal also made the shocking assertion at a different press conference that Aamir had an affair with British journalist Jessica Hines when he was still married to Reena Dutta, his first wife. They had a child together outside of marriage. Faissal has told Aamir to take a DNA test to back up his claim.

Faissal, who worked with Aamir on the movie Mela in 2000, also said that his famous brother has always been jealous of him. He said that Aamir had not been helpful with his career from the start, even refusing to read the script for Faissal’s first movie, Madhosh (1994). Faissal said that people liked his performance in Mela more than Aamir’s, which he thinks started a “sibling rivalry.” He also said that Aamir told him to stop acting after the movie. Faissal added that Aamir also wouldn’t assist him get an OTT release for Faactory, his first movie as a director, in 2021.

Faissal has said again that he thinks other family members are “brainwashing” Aamir and getting him to act in a certain way. He remarked, “Aamir’s fault is that he listened to the family and did whatever they told him to do.” Faissal was afraid that his brother could use his power against him again, saying that Aamir had a “strong pull with the police and many other people with power.”

Earlier, the Khan family released a joint statement saying they were “distressed” by Faissal’s “hurtful and misleading portrayal” of what happened. They said that all choices for Faissal were made “as a family, with the help of several medical professionals,” and that they were made out of love and concern for his “emotional and psychological wellbeing.”
