Actor dismisses affair claims, defends conduct and reacts to Sunita Ahuja’s plans
February 10, 2026: Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda has finally addressed the cheating rumours that have surrounded him in recent months, especially after his wife Sunita Ahuja’s candid interviews sparked speculation. Speaking to ANI, the actor dismissed allegations of an extramarital affair, saying such accusations were nothing new in his life. Using humour and metaphors, Govinda suggested that rumours often resurface with age and fame, adding that he is unfazed by people’s perceptions or gossip around his personal life.
Defending his professional integrity, Govinda asserted that he has always maintained respect towards his co-stars. He said that despite working with several top actresses and even Miss Universe winners, no heroine could ever accuse him of misbehaviour. Crediting his long-standing success to directors, music composers and fellow actors, he thanked the industry for supporting his journey and emphasised that mutual respect has always defined his work environment.
Reacting to reports of Sunita Ahuja making her acting debut with Ektaa Kapoor’s production house, Govinda responded light-heartedly, saying it would keep her busy and away from excessive interviews. He also briefly addressed the name linked to the controversy, urging people to move ahead without dragging him into false narratives. Concluding his remarks, Govinda said he wants no controversy to impact newcomers and expressed appreciation for those who have spoken responsibly during the episode.
