Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, is all set to make her Bollywood debut alongside her son, Yash Ahuja. The mother-son duo will be launched together in an upcoming film backed by producer Ektaa Kapoor, making it a special milestone for the Ahuja family. Sunita revealed that the film is scheduled to hit theatres in September this year.
Speaking in an interview, Sunita shared that she will be playing Yash’s mother on screen as well. Calling the opportunity unique, she said it could be the first time in the industry that a real-life mother and son are making their Bollywood debut together. She also expressed her gratitude towards Ektaa Kapoor, saying the producer has always supported her career and played a key role in bringing this project to life.
Sharing her excitement, Sunita said, “Main Yash ke saath picture kar rahi hoon. September mein picture release hogi. Main Ektaa Kapoor ko bahut pyaar karti hoon. Unki wajah se maine Netflix ka show kiya. Yash ki picture mein main uski maa ka hi role kar rahi hoon. Shayad industry mein pehli baar aisa hoga ki maa aur beta ek saath launch ho rahe hain.”
Sunita also requested fans to extend the same love and blessings to Yash that they have showered on her over the years. She expressed confidence that audiences would support her son’s journey in the film industry and wished for their continued encouragement.
Yash’s Bollywood debut has been eagerly awaited, especially since Sunita had earlier revealed that she had advised him not to imitate his father Govinda’s iconic acting style. Instead, she encouraged him to develop his own identity and carve a unique place in the industry.
Interestingly, Yash will not be the first member of the family to step into Bollywood. Govinda and Sunita’s daughter, Tina Ahuja, made her acting debut with the 2015 film Second Hand Husband. Now, all eyes are on Yash as he prepares to begin his acting career with the backing of Ektaa Kapoor.
Sunita was recently seen in Netflix’s reality show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, where she grabbed attention for her candid personality and close bond with several contestants, particularly actor Ram Kapoor. With her Bollywood debut now confirmed, fans are excited to see her share the screen with her son in what promises to be a memorable launch.
