Heidi Klum recreates The Veiled Lady at the Met Gala 2026, blending fashion with fine art.

May 5, 2026: Known for her dramatic fashion statements, Heidi Klum turned heads at the Met Gala 2026 by transforming herself into a living sculpture. Inspired by Italian sculptor Raffaele Monti’s iconic The Veiled Lady, Klum recreated the illusion of a delicate veil carved in marble, delivering a look that was both haunting and elegant.

The original sculpture, created in 1860, is renowned for its intricate detailing, where a woman’s face appears to be covered by a sheer veil sculpted entirely from marble. Klum’s version mirrored this effect with remarkable precision, using foam and latex to achieve the illusion of transparency. Despite its rigid appearance, she revealed during a chat with Ashley Graham and Cara Delevingne that the outfit was surprisingly soft and comfortable.

Blurring the lines between art and fashion, Klum’s avant-garde look stood out as one of the most creative interpretations of the evening. She wasn’t alone in drawing inspiration from art, as celebrities like Karan Johar, Madonna, Kim Kardashian, and Léna Mahfouf also embraced artistic themes. The star-studded gala featured global icons including Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, Gigi Hadid, and Isha Ambani, making the night a grand celebration of creativity and couture.
