Vishal Bhardwaj’s action romance earns Rs 47.93 crore so far
February 20, 2026: Vishal Bhardwaj’s O’Romeo, released on February 13 around Valentine’s Day, has collected Rs 47.93 crore at the Indian box office so far against a reported budget of Rs 125–150 crore. Despite the modest earnings, the film has received appreciation from Hrithik Roshan, who praised its “quirkiness” and action sequences. In a post on X, he lauded Shahid Kapoor for excelling in the genre and encouraged audiences to watch the film in theatres.
The action romance opened with Rs 8.5 crore on Day 1 and saw a jump to Rs 12.65 crore on Day 2 before dipping over the following days. The first week concluded with a total of Rs 47.1 crore, with current figures standing at Rs 47.93 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The film has now become Shahid Kapoor’s seventh highest-grossing film and Triptii Dimri’s third biggest box-office success.
Speaking after the release, Bhardwaj expressed strong confidence in the project, stating he is proud of both the violence and the love story portrayed in the film. He earlier shared a note thanking his team and explaining his intent to craft a story balancing romance with intense action, calling it one of his most ambitious works.
