January 18, 2025: Actor Hugh Jackman has expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of legendary filmmaker David Lynch, who passed away at the age of 78.

Jackman expressed his commitment to carrying forward the legacy of Lynch’s work, particularly in the realm of transcendental meditation.

“My deepest condolences and love to his family and friends,” Jackman concluded in his post.
Lynch, best known for his groundbreaking TV series Twin Peaks and iconic films such as Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive, left an indelible mark on cinema and television. He was a four-time Academy Award nominee and was celebrated for his surreal and avant-garde approach to storytelling. Lynch’s influence extended beyond filmmaking, as he advocated for meditation and mindfulness through his foundation, which he established in 2005.
Lynch’s family released a statement confirming his passing, asking for privacy during this difficult time. They shared that although there is now “a big hole in the world,” Lynch’s legacy lives on through his work and his philosophy of “Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.”
Lynch would have turned 79 on January 20, and his contributions to film and culture continue to inspire filmmakers and audiences alike.
