April 20, 2025: Jennifer Aniston recently revealed her long-standing fear of flying and how she’s been working to manage it through alternative therapies. In an interview with E! News, the 56-year-old actress shared that hypnosis and meditation have helped her overcome the anxiety that used to grip her during flights.

The Friends and We’re the Millers star admitted she had developed a number of superstitions around flying—such as tapping the outside of the plane with her right hand and stepping onboard with her right foot. But through hypnosis, she’s been encouraged to let those habits go.

“I have not been doing the right hand, right foot—and now it’s shockingly good!” Aniston revealed.

Meditation is also a go-to for the actress. She shared that plugging into a calming meditation helps her feel more grounded during flights. Walking around and stretching during the journey are also small rituals that help her feel more in control.

Despite her fear, Aniston’s love for travel keeps her in the skies. Her ideal getaway? “A white sandy beach and clear, crystal-blue water.” She also cherishes traveling with friends and family, recalling a birthday trip where around 50 close friends joined her for three days of sun, fun, and connection.

“That was really fun,” she said. “I’ve had a lot of really meaningful, wonderful trips.”

Aniston emphasized how travel has helped her grow. Having grown up with Central Park as her closest connection to nature, she said traveling has expanded her view of the world.

“There’s more that exists than just this little bubble that we are in,” she shared. “It’s all very important and expands our awareness greater than what we’re confined to.”

Through self-awareness, mindfulness, and a determination to keep exploring, Aniston is not letting fear ground her.
