Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut has strongly dismissed journalist Simi Chandoke’s claim that she injured actor-comedian Vir Das during the filming of their 2014 movie Revolver Rani. The controversy began after Chandoke alleged in a recent podcast interview that Ranaut continued kissing Das even after the director had called cut, resulting in a bleeding lip and leaving the actor traumatised.
The claim quickly gained attention on social media, prompting Vir Das to publicly refute the story. In a post on X on June 28, Das described the allegation as “pure fiction” and defended Ranaut’s professionalism on the film’s set. He stated that there were “no problems at all” during the making of Revolver Rani and called the viral narrative “unfair slander” against his co-star. While acknowledging that he and Ranaut had differences years later over his comedy, Das clarified that the incident described by Chandoke never happened.
Reacting to Das’ statement, Kangana Ranaut also took to X to express her disbelief over the allegations. Thanking Das for clearing the air, she questioned the journalist’s motives and referred to the story as bizarre. In a strongly worded response, Ranaut wrote that the claims appeared to be the product of someone’s “demonic sex fantasies” and called the narrative “random” and the journalist a “weirdo.”
The controversy stems from Chandoke’s appearance on Siddharth Kannan’s podcast, where she claimed that the intense kissing sequence in Revolver Rani went beyond the scripted scene. According to her account, Ranaut allegedly forgot that the shot had ended and continued kissing Das, leaving him with an injured lip. However, both actors have now categorically denied that the incident ever took place.
On the professional front, Vir Das was recently seen in Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, which marked his directorial debut and released in theatres on January 26, 2026. The film featured Mithila Palkar, Mona Singh, Sharib Hashmi, and Srushti Tawade, with special appearances by Aamir Khan and Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut was last seen in Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, released on June 12, 2026. The film is based on the true story of hospital staff at Mumbai’s Cama and Albless Hospital during the 26/11 terror attacks, highlighting their courage and resilience in the face of tragedy.
