Noted Kannada actor and producer Dileep Raj passed away in the early hours of Wednesday after suffering a massive heart attack. He was 47.

According to family members, the actor complained of health complications after the cardiac arrest and was immediately rushed to a hospital. However, doctors were unable to revive him.

Dileep Raj was a familiar face in the Kannada entertainment industry and had earned popularity through both films and television. He became widely recognised after appearing alongside Puneeth Rajkumar in the 2007 Kannada film Milana, which remains one of the memorable films of his career.

Over the years, he featured in several notable Kannada projects, including U-Turn and Boyfriend. His performances across films and serials helped him build a strong fan following among Kannada audiences.

Apart from acting, Dileep Raj also made his mark as a producer. Under his production banner DR Creations, he produced multiple television serials and contributed significantly to Kannada television content.

He gained further recognition through the popular Zee Kannada serial Hitler Kalyana, where he played the lead role and became a household name.

Beyond cinema and television, Dileep Raj was actively associated with theatre and was also known in the industry as a talented dubbing artist.

His sudden demise has shocked the Kannada film and television fraternity, with fans and colleagues mourning the loss of one of the industry’s familiar and versatile faces.
