Actress Shilpa Shinde has landed in controversy following her remarks about fellow contestant Shivangi Joshi during the latest episode of Lock Upp 2. A clip from the reality show has gone viral on social media, with many viewers criticizing the actress for mocking Shivangi while mimicking her during a conversation inside the house.
During the episode, Shilpa was seen jokingly imitating Shivangi Joshi and making comments about her innocence and her previously expressed views on relationships. While mimicking her, Shilpa remarked that Shivangi was “very innocent” and would only engage in intimacy after marriage, prompting laughter from some contestants present during the conversation. Fellow contestant Shreya Kalra also joined the exchange by playfully enacting another participant before making further remarks, adding to the light-hearted banter inside the house.
However, the segment did not go down well with a section of viewers. Soon after the clip surfaced online, several social media users accused Shilpa of crossing the line by making personal remarks about Shivangi. Many fans defended the television actress, calling the comments insensitive and unnecessary. Several posts on X (formerly Twitter) criticized the exchange, with users urging contestants to maintain respect for one another despite the competitive nature of the reality show.
The incident has further intensified the ongoing tension between Shilpa Shinde and Shivangi Joshi inside the Lock Upp 2 house. In previous episodes, Shilpa had also advised Shivangi to maintain distance from fellow contestant Harshad Chopda, leading to emotional moments that attracted significant attention from viewers.
Despite the backlash, neither Shilpa Shinde nor Shivangi Joshi has publicly addressed the controversy outside the show. The makers of Lock Upp 2 have also not issued any statement regarding the viral clip. As debates continue online, the incident has become one of the most talked-about moments from the current season.
Lock Upp 2 follows a prison-themed reality show format in which celebrity contestants compete while living together under constant surveillance. The current season is hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh and features contestants including Ram Kapoor, Shivangi Joshi, Harshad Chopda, Akanksha Chamola, Shreya Kalra, Sufi Motiwala, and Shilpa Shinde, who entered the show as a wildcard contestant.
