Netflix’s Lock Upp has landed in the middle of a fresh controversy after a section of viewers accused the makers of showing bias against contestant Yogesh Rawat. The backlash erupted following the latest episode, with several fans claiming Yogesh was not given an opportunity to participate in the final Crackdown task, unlike the other contestants, leaving him vulnerable ahead of Judgement Day.

Soon after the episode aired, social media was flooded with reactions, with users tagging Netflix India and producer Ekta Kapoor while alleging that the reality show was “scripted” and unfair. Many fans claimed the makers were attempting to justify Yogesh’s possible elimination by creating what they described as “fake narratives.”

One user wrote, “Shame on the makers… You are manipulating viewers to justify Yogesh’s elimination.” Another claimed, “Even Team Yogesh knows about the bias and dirty game being played.” Several viewers also started trending slogans such as “No Yogesh No Lock Upp” while demanding equal treatment for the contestant.

Many fans questioned why Yogesh allegedly did not receive the same opportunity to compete in the Crackdown task as the remaining contestants. Another viral post read, “It’s a scripted show. At least let Yogesh play before saying he has no game.” Some viewers even suggested that Yogesh and Akanksha Choudhary would have been better off participating in another reality show instead.

In the latest episode, Ram Kapoor secured immunity after winning the task designed for the Dependent contestants. The focus then shifted to the Controllers, who battled in the Crackdown challenge to secure their safety. By the end of the task, Shreya Kalra, Varun Yadav (Laila), Pamela Serena, Dheeraj Dhoopar and Shilpa Shinde were declared safe, while Ram also remained protected due to his earlier win.

Following the challenge, Harshad Chopda, Akanksha Chamola, Sufi Motiwala, Shivangi Joshi and Yogesh Rawat landed in the ‘At Risk’ zone. However, many viewers pointed out that Yogesh allegedly did not get a chance to participate in the decisive task, triggering widespread allegations of unfair treatment and favouritism online.

As of now, neither Netflix India nor the makers of Lock Upp have issued any official statement addressing the claims circulating on social media.
