Imtiaz Ali advises young influencers to focus on success earned through hard work
February 11, 2025: Popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has landed in legal trouble over his controversial remark on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent. Following massive backlash and multiple police complaints, actors Manoj Bajpayee and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali have now shared their thoughts on the controversy.

Imtiaz Ali and Manoj Bajpayee Call It Immaturity
In an interview with Instant Bollywood, Imtiaz Ali dismissed the controversy, suggesting that immature people shouldn’t be taken seriously.
“I feel people should do what they enjoy doing, but obscenity is a subject that looks bad and anyone would agree. However, people are immature, so their mistakes should not be taken too seriously,” Ali stated.
Manoj Bajpayee supported Ali’s perspective, adding:
“Successful and young people should always be aware of their surroundings and understand their environment.”
Ali further emphasized that people should strive for success through hard work rather than engaging in sensational content for attention.
“After a big high, you don’t always fall into a low. So, success that is earned through hard work and effort, that’s what you should strive for,” he advised.
Ranveer Allahbadia’s Controversial Remark
During India’s Got Latent, Allahbadia had asked a contestant a highly inappropriate question, which many found offensive. The Assam Police has since registered a case against Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Mukhija, and Samay Raina for promoting obscenity.
Allahbadia Issues an Apology
Following the widespread outrage, the YouTuber, who has 4.5 million Instagram followers and over 10 million YouTube subscribers, posted an apology video on X (formerly Twitter).
“I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry… My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte, and I’m here to apologize,” he said.
The controversy has even drawn criticism from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, adding further scrutiny to the matter.
