Tom Cruise’s action-packed MI8 inches closer to the ₹50 crore milestone in India, with strong English occupancy and ₹200 crore global earnings within four days of release.
Mumbai, May 21, 2025 – Tom Cruise’s latest adrenaline-fueled thriller, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, continues to hold its ground at the Indian box office despite a slight slump during weekdays. The film has amassed an estimated ₹44.75 crore across all Indian languages in its first four days.
As per data from trade portal Sacnilk, the eighth installment of the action franchise opened with ₹16.5 crore, followed by ₹17 crore on Sunday, ₹5.75 crore on Monday, and ₹5.5 crore on Tuesday. Despite the typical midweek drop, the film is expected to breach the ₹50 crore mark shortly.
The breakdown by language shows the English version leading with ₹27.8 crore, followed by ₹13.99 crore from the Hindi dubbed version. Telugu and Tamil versions contributed ₹1.47 crore and ₹0.92 crore, respectively.
Occupancy remained steady on Tuesday, with the English shows recording 17.94% overall occupancy, peaking at 28.30% during night shows. The Hindi version saw 14.50% occupancy, also peaking at 22.20% at night. Tamil and Telugu versions saw 24.25% and 12.54% occupancy, respectively.
Globally, the film has already crossed the ₹200 crore mark in just four days, further establishing its commercial dominance ahead of its May 23 US release.
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film follows Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and the IMF team on a mission to stop a rogue AI known as Entity that threatens global annihilation. The film also stars Hayley Atwell, Angela Bassett, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Henry Czerny in pivotal roles.
Released in India on May 17, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is playing in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
