Speculation is reaching a fever pitch in both Bollywood and Kollywood as unconfirmed reports suggest that actors Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush may be planning a private wedding on February 14, 2026.
The news of a potential Valentine’s Day ceremony began circulating heavily on social media and regional news outlets on Thursday, January 15, following a series of high-profile public appearances and family interactions.

While neither star has officially confirmed the news, the timeline of their rumored romance has kept fans on edge for months.
From “Just Friends” to Family Ties?
The bond between the two stars first caught the public eye in August 2025 during the promotions for Son Of Sardaar 2. At the time, Mrunal addressed the dating chatter in an interview, insisting that Dhanush was “just a good friend” and laughing off the rumors as “funny.”
However, several clues have recently reignited the speculation:
- Family Approval: Fans noticed that Mrunal has started following both of Dhanush’s sisters, Dr. Karthika Karthik and Vimala Geetha, on Instagram—and they have followed her back. This is notable as Dhanush is known to be fiercely protective of his family’s privacy.
- Public Appearances: Mrunal was spotted at the wrap-up party for Dhanush’s film Tere Ishk Mein (co-starring Kriti Sanon), despite not being part of the cast.
- Social Media Exchanges: Most recently, in November 2025, Dhanush left an appreciative comment on the teaser for Mrunal’s upcoming film Do Deewane Shaher Mein, to which she replied with heart emojis.
The Road Ahead
Dhanush, who officially divorced Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth in 2024, has remained tight-lipped about his personal life. If the rumors are true, the wedding is expected to be an extremely intimate affair in Mumbai or Chennai, attended only by a handful of close relatives and friends.
For now, both actors remain busy with their professional calendars. Mrunal is currently filming Dacoit: A Love Story with Adivi Sesh, while Dhanush has a massive lineup including Idli Kadai and the biopic Kalam: The Missile Man of India.
