January 20, 2025: Ahead of US President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Reliance Foundation founder Nita Ambani attended a private reception in Washington on Sunday. The Ambanis were among the distinguished guests at the event, where they also extended their congratulations to Trump, expressing their hopes for stronger India-US relations during his second term.

For the occasion, Mukesh Ambani donned a formal black suit paired with a white shirt and a subtly patterned tie. Nita Ambani, renowned for her impeccable fashion sense, wore a traditional Kanchipuram silk saree designed by Swadesh. The saree, created by National Award-winning artisan B. Krishnamoorthy, featured intricate motifs inspired by the temples of Kanchipuram, such as the double-headed eagle symbolizing Lord Vishnu, the peacock representing immortality, and the Sorgavasal animal trails from Indian folklore. She complemented the saree with a rare 200-year-old Indian pendant in the shape of a parrot, set with emeralds, rubies, diamonds, and pearls, crafted using the gold Kundan technique.

The Ambanis were also seen congratulating Trump on his upcoming leadership and discussed the potential for greater collaboration between India and the US. They emphasized their shared hopes for transformative growth during his presidency.

The couple arrived in Washington DC on January 18, with the inauguration events kicking off on January 20. The Ambanis are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony at the US Capitol, where they will be seated among other notable figures, including Trump’s Cabinet nominees and elected officials.
