January 22, 2025: Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang, both actor-writer-comedians, have been announced as the hosts for the nominations announcement of the 97th annual Academy Awards. The live event will take place at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Thursday, January 23.

The announcement will be broadcast live and streamed globally on various platforms including Oscar.com, Oscars.org, and the Academy’s digital platforms, in addition to being aired on ABC’s Good Morning America and streaming on ABC News Live, Disney+, and Hulu.

Sennott, known for her roles in films like Shiva Baby, Bodies Bodies Bodies, and I Used to Be Funny, and Yang, who stars on NBC’s Saturday Night Live and has been involved in projects like Wicked and The Garfield Movie, will reveal the nominees across all 24 Oscar categories.

The original date for the Oscar nominations announcement was set for January 17 but was delayed to January 19 due to wildfires in Los Angeles, which disrupted many structures and impacted several Oscar voters. As a result, the Academy extended the voting period and moved the announcement to January 23. The Nominee Luncheon has also been canceled due to these delays.
