Actress and producer Patralekhaa has taken a firm stand against online trolls and insensitive paparazzi coverage following her recent public appearance. After attending the screening of the film Toaster, the actress was met with a wave of body-shaming comments regarding her physical appearance.

Patralekhaa, who welcomed her first child with husband Rajkummar Rao in November 2025, used her platform to call out the “unnatural” expectations placed on women’s bodies after childbirth.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Patralekhaa addressed the viral remarks directly, questioning the narrative being pushed by certain media pages. She reminded the public that her body has undergone a significant transformation to bring a new life into the world, emphasizing that weight gain during and after pregnancy is a natural process, not a lifestyle failure.

Learn To Be A Little Kind

The actress didn’t hold back in her response, highlighting that she has been balancing motherhood with an intense professional schedule.

“I have not sat and eaten a mountain, I just delivered a baby and produced two films simultaneously which are not easy jobs,” she wrote.

She further explained that her body’s reaction to pregnancy was beyond her control and urged the digital community to lead with empathy rather than scrutiny. Her message serves as a powerful reminder of the physical and mental toll of the postpartum period, especially under the relentless gaze of the spotlight.

Balancing Motherhood and Career

While navigating these personal challenges, Patralekhaa’s professional life is reaching new heights. Her production house recently debuted with ‘Toaster’ on Netflix, starring Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra, which has garnered positive reviews. This follows her critically acclaimed performance as Savitribai Phule in the film Phule.

Patralekhaa and Rajkummar Rao, who married in 2021, introduced their daughter, Parvati Paul Rao, to the world in January 2026. By speaking out, Patralekhaa joins a growing list of women in the industry who are refusing to let “snapback” culture dictate their worth as mothers or professionals.
