The wait for Ram Charan’s rugged sports drama, Peddi, might finally be coming to an end. Following multiple delays, industry buzz is intensifying around a potential June 4, 2026 theatrical release. While the makers are yet to drop an official confirmation, the timing seems strategic; the slot recently opened up after Yash’s highly anticipated film Toxic was postponed to a later date for global distribution alignment.

Production Milestone: It’s a Wrap!

The excitement reached a fever pitch on April 30, 2026, when the film’s cinematographer, Rathnavelu, confirmed that filming had officially concluded. Taking to ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), he shared an emotional note alongside behind-the-scenes photos:

“It’s a wrap for Mega power star @AlwaysRamCharan! #Peddi – A Memorable journey. Working with #RC has been truly special. A powerhouse performer on screen and a wonderful friend off it.”

The news of the wrap-up comes as a massive relief to fans, especially following recent reports of a minor eye injury Ram Charan sustained during an action sequence. His team quickly clarified that the actor is fine and was back on set within a day to finish the final schedule.

A Star-Studded “Pativerse” of Talent

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi (also referred to as RC16) is being mounted on a massive scale with an estimated budget of ₹300 crore. The film features a powerhouse ensemble:

  • Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, marking her second big Telugu project.
  • Jagapathi Babu, Shiva Rajkumar, and Boman Irani in pivotal roles.
  • Shruti Haasan, who reportedly shot a grand special song with Ram Charan in Hyderabad just weeks before the wrap.

Third Time’s a Charm?

Peddi has faced a rocky road to the theaters. Originally planned for a March 27 launch to coincide with Ram Charan’s birthday, it was pushed to April 30, and subsequently moved to June to allow for extensive post-production and VFX work. With A.R. Rahman composing the score and the talkie portions now complete, the focus has shifted entirely to “absolute perfection” in the editing room.
