May 30, 2025: Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions have unveiled the chilling trailer for their upcoming horror thriller The Home, starring Pete Davidson in a terrifying new role that’s worlds away from his comedic roots.
In the film, Davidson plays Max, a troubled young man assigned community service at a seemingly quiet retirement home. But as Max settles into his new duties, he stumbles upon the mysterious and forbidden fourth floor, a place reserved for residents who need “special care.” What he uncovers is anything but routine.
The trailer teases eerie imagery, sinister whispers, and unsettling behavior from the elderly residents — including a foreboding warning from one woman: “There’s something very wrong with this place.”
Directed and co-written by James DeMonaco, the mastermind behind The Purge franchise, The Home is described as a nod to classic 1970s horror, blending psychological suspense with shocking violence. DeMonaco praised Davidson’s dramatic performance, saying, “Pete unveils a darker, dramatic side as his character navigates a bizarre group of residents in an old age home.”
The film promises an unforgettable climax, with DeMonaco teasing an “epic blood-soaked finale, designed to leave audiences gasping, terrified, and cheering.”
The Home creeps into theaters on July 25 — just in time to give horror fans a midsummer scare.
