Global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas has stepped forward to publicly support her brother-in-law, Raghav Chadha, following his recent high-profile removal as the Deputy Leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Rajya Sabha.
On Saturday, April 4, 2026, Priyanka reacted to a defiant video posted by Chadha, titled “Silenced, Not Defeated,” which features a compilation of his parliamentary speeches raising public interest issues.
The political storm began on Thursday, April 2, when AAP officially notified the Rajya Sabha Secretariat that Chadha was being replaced by Ashok Mittal.
More controversially, the party reportedly requested that Chadha not be allotted any speaking time from the party’s quota—a move sources close to the MP described as a “bid to silence” him. In her reaction, Priyanka commented with a series of supportive emojis, including the raising hands, clapping hands, and smiling face with heart-eyes, signaling her solidarity with his “aam aadmi” message.

While Priyanka’s comment drew mixed reactions from netizens—with some questioning the internal party dynamics and others speculating on Chadha’s futurehis wife, Parineeti Chopra, also recently voiced her immense pride in his work. Parineeti highlighted his recent advocacy for a paternity leave law, a cause close to the couple since they welcomed their son, Neer, in October 2025.
Despite the “demotion,” Chadha’s supporters, including sister-in-law Priyanka and celebrities like Disha Patani’s sister, Khushboo, have rallied behind his continued vocal stance on issues ranging from gig workers’ rights to airport food pricing.
