Based on the acclaimed play, ‘Pune Highway’ explores trust, fear, and friendship unraveling after a shocking discovery during a road trip.

Mumbai, May 3:
The much-anticipated trailer for Pune Highway, a psychological murder-mystery thriller starring Amit Sadh and Jim Sarbh, was unveiled on Friday, promising an intense ride filled with suspense, secrets, and emotional breakdowns.

Directed by Bugs Bhargava Krishna and Rahul daCunha, Pune Highway is adapted from a widely acclaimed play of the same name. The film had an impressive festival run, receiving praise at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) last year for its taut narrative and gripping performances.

The story revolves around three childhood friends whose peaceful road trip spirals into chaos after they stumble upon a dead body. As fear and paranoia set in, bonds are tested and hidden truths begin to surface—raising the question: how well do we really know the people we trust?

“This film has been an incredible experience—closest to Kai Po Che in terms of emotional depth,” said Amit Sadh. “It’s about how regular people unravel when faced with extraordinary pressure.”

Co-director Bugs Bhargava Krishna added, “Pune Highway shows how a single shocking event can rip through layers of friendship and certainty. We aimed to portray raw emotion and psychological suspense.”

Rahul daCunha echoed the sentiment: “The original play still draws strong reactions. With the film, we’ve added new cinematic layers to explore how loyalty, trust, and fear collide.”

The cast also features Anuvab Pal, Manjari Fadnnis, Ketki Narayan, Sudeep Modak, Abhishek Krishnan, Swapnil Ajgaonkar, and Shishir Sharma in pivotal roles.

Pune Highway is slated for theatrical release on May 16, and if the trailer is any indication, audiences are in for a gripping, nerve-wracking experience.
