April 18, 2025: The first look of actor Radhika Apte’s highly anticipated film Sister Midnight has been unveiled, and it has already created a buzz among fans and critics alike. The official Instagram account of the film shared the poster on Friday, offering a glimpse of Apte in a bold new avatar. This film marks Apte’s return to acting after becoming a mother in December 2024.

In the poster, Apte is seen standing on a dark, moody street, holding a mop, while dressed in a green and blue saree. The visuals immediately drew comparisons to the iconic 1976 film Taxi Driver, with the caption of the poster referring to it as an “official US Taxi Driver-inspired poster.”

Fans quickly filled the comments section, expressing excitement and admiration for the first look. Many noted the visual similarity to Taxi Driver, and one user even remarked, “I saw the trailer and this will be an epic movie.” Another commented, “Instantly reminded me of the Taxi Driver poster.”

‘Sister Midnight’, directed and written by Karan Kandhari, is a black comedy that delves into the complexities of womanhood, emotions, and real-life struggles. Apte plays the character Uma, a woman navigating the monotony and societal expectations in her life. Set against the backdrop of Mumbai, the film showcases Uma’s journey across famous locations like Marine Drive, Bandstand, and the Mumbai local train.

The film is set to hit theatres in New York on May 16 and Los Angeles on May 23, with more cities to be announced soon. The poster for the film was designed by renowned designer James Paterson, adding another layer of intrigue to the film’s striking visuals.
