Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has returned to social media after being granted interim bail in the ₹9 crore cheque bounce case that has dominated headlines in recent weeks. On Thursday (February 19), the actor shared his first Instagram post following the court’s decision, expressing heartfelt gratitude to his supporters.
In a brief but emotional message, he wrote, “Aap sabhi ke pyaar aur saath ke liye dil se dhanyawaad (Heartfelt thanks to all of you for your love and support).” While the actor refrained from addressing the specifics of the ongoing legal matter, his post indicated that he has been closely following the encouragement pouring in from fans and well-wishers during this difficult phase.
Bail Granted After Partial Payment
According to reports, the court granted interim bail after Rajpal deposited ₹1.5 crore into the complainant’s bank account in compliance with earlier directives. As part of the bail conditions, he has surrendered his passport and is restricted from travelling abroad without prior court approval.
The actor had surrendered on February 5 after the High Court rejected his plea seeking additional time in the cheque bounce and loan default case. He had earlier been sentenced to six months in jail due to repeated non-compliance with court orders.
Case Linked to 2010 Production Venture
The dispute dates back to 2010 and is reportedly connected to unpaid dues amounting to nearly ₹9 crore following the failure of his production venture, Ata Pata Laapata. The long-running legal battle has kept the actor in the spotlight beyond his cinematic work.
Industry Extends Support
During this period, several members of the film fraternity are said to have extended support, including Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan. Singers Guru Randhawa, Mika Singh and Anup Jalota reportedly offered financial assistance as well.
