Veteran actress Rakhee Gulzar has expressed support for Bollywood star Aamir Khan and his reported decision to marry longtime partner Gauri Spratt at the age of 60.

Speaking to Variety India, Rakhee said there is nothing unusual about finding love later in life. According to her, happiness and companionship should not be measured by age.

Although she admitted she is not closely connected to the current film industry and has never worked with Aamir Khan, she praised the actor’s sincerity and the way he has handled his personal relationships over the years.

Praises Aamir’s Relationship With Former Wives

Rakhee highlighted the respectful bond Aamir continues to share with his former wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao.

She said maintaining friendships after the end of a marriage reflects positively on a person’s character.

According to Rakhee, Aamir’s ability to remain on good terms with both Reena and Kiran speaks volumes about the kind of person he is.

‘What Is Wrong With Marrying at 60?’

Addressing criticism surrounding Aamir’s reported marriage plans, Rakhee questioned society’s focus on age.

She pointed to the example of Robert De Niro, who welcomed a child in his later years with partner Tiffany Chen.

Rakhee said that happiness in a relationship is not determined by age and added that she herself married filmmaker Gulzar when he was nearly 40 years old.

Vikram Bhatt Also Supports Aamir

Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt also supported Aamir Khan’s decision.

Bhatt said there is no fixed age for finding love or choosing to settle down. He added that personal relationships are individual choices and people should be free to live their lives as they wish.

Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt’s Wedding Plans

According to reports, Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt are expected to marry on July 5.

The couple reportedly prefers a private celebration rather than a large Bollywood event. Reports suggest they may formalise their relationship through a registered marriage ceremony attended by close family members and friends.

Last year, Aamir publicly confirmed that he and Gauri had been in a relationship for more than a year.

Aamir Khan’s Previous Marriages

Aamir Khan was first married to Reena Dutta in 1986. The couple later separated in 2002 and share two children, Junaid Khan and Ira Khan.

In 2005, Aamir married filmmaker Kiran Rao. The couple announced their separation in 2021 but continue to co-parent their son, Azad Rao Khan.
