Ram Kapoor has come under fire on social media following his actions during the latest episode of Lock Upp 2.
The actor interrupted a task after alleging that contestants had repeatedly been denied drinking water, triggering a heated exchange with host Riteish Deshmukh.
Ram Kapoor Halts Task Over Water
During the challenge, Ram expressed frustration over the lack of drinking water, saying he had requested it several times.
He told the show’s makers:
“I have been asking for water for a long time… it’s not right. Send water.”
When no water arrived before the task was nearing completion, Ram walked into the middle of the playing area, preventing the challenge from continuing.
Riteish Deshmukh warned him that remaining in the task zone could result in him being hit by a paintball.
Ram responded:
“Lagne do, aajao maaro.”
Riteish then clarified that every contestant had already been given a personal water bottle and it was their responsibility to carry it during tasks.
After the explanation, Ram stepped aside and the task resumed.
Social Media Divided
Clips of the incident quickly circulated online, with many viewers criticizing Ram Kapoor’s conduct.
Some of the reactions included:
- “This is just too much, Ram Kapoor.”
- “Why is he overacting so much?”
- “This was so embarrassing, pure entitled behavior.”
- “Maybe he forgot he is in Lock Upp. Why would he get any special treatment?”
Others debated whether his protest was justified if contestants genuinely lacked access to drinking water, though the show’s explanation suggested they had been issued water bottles beforehand.
Second Controversy Since Entering the Show
This is the second time Ram Kapoor has faced criticism since joining the reality series.
Earlier, he was criticized after defending remarks in which he had previously compared his hectic promotional schedule to being gang-raped, describing the statement as part of his “sense of humour.”
Contestant Shreya Kalra challenged those comments on the show, saying jokes about sexual violence were inappropriate.
Ram responded that he was continuing to learn from his mistakes, but his explanation received mixed reactions online, while several viewers praised Shreya for speaking up.
