February 3, 2025: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan made his first public appearance on Monday after returning home following the stabbing attack he endured last month.
The ‘Hum Tum’ star was seen attending a Netflix event in Mumbai, where he was all smiles for the cameras, though with a black cast on his arm. The event was a promotional one for his upcoming film Jewel Thief.
While at the event, Saif shared his excitement about the project, expressing his enthusiasm for the heist film and his co-star Jaideep Ahlawat. “It’s very nice to be standing here in front of you…it feels very nice to be here. I’m very excited about this movie. Siddharth and I have been talking about this for a long time. I’ve always wanted to do a heist film and I couldn’t have asked for a better co-star (touches Jaideep’s shoulder). Basically, a lovely movie and I’m very excited,” he said.
Saif had been attacked by an intruder, later identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad, who had entered his home with the intent to commit theft. The confrontation with the attacker resulted in Saif suffering stab wounds to his thoracic spine and other areas. He was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital for treatment and later recovered.
During this challenging period, Saif’s wife, actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, had issued a heartfelt statement urging the media to respect their family’s privacy. She emphasized the overwhelming nature of the constant media scrutiny and the importance of safety and healing for their family. “It has been an incredibly challenging day for our family, and we are still trying to process the events that have unfolded. I kindly request that you respect our boundaries and give us the space we need to heal and cope as a family,” Kareena had written.
Saif’s recovery and return to public life are being met with relief from fans and the industry alike, and his upbeat spirit at the event shows his determination to move forward with his work despite the difficult circumstances.
