Johansson and Teller step in to replace Anne Hathaway and Jeremy Strong, who exited the project due to scheduling conflicts. The casting change adds a fresh dynamic to a story already generating buzz for its intense narrative and powerful themes.

Paper Tiger tells the gripping story of two brothers striving to achieve the American Dream, only to be pulled into a perilous underworld after a risky deal spirals out of control. Their descent into crime brings them face-to-face with the Russian mafia, testing not only their ambitions but the strength of their brotherhood.

The film marks another bold creative turn for James Gray, the visionary behind Ad Astra and The Lost City of Z, who is both writing and directing the project. The movie is being produced by Rodrigo Teixeira, Anthony Katagas, and others.

Scarlett Johansson, a two-time Oscar nominee celebrated for her roles in Marriage Story, Lost in Translation, and the Avengers franchise, is also set to appear at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme. She is currently preparing for her directorial debut.

Miles Teller, known for standout performances in Top Gun: Maverick, Whiplash, and The Spectacular Now, has recently completed work on several high-profile projects, including a Michael Jackson biopic and A24’s upcoming drama Eternity.

With a stellar cast and a seasoned director at the helm, Paper Tiger is shaping up to be one of the most compelling films on the horizon.
