May 30, 2025: Actor Shweta Tripathi is stepping into a new role—this time as a theatre producer—with the Indian adaptation of the provocative British play Cock, written by Mike Bartlett and directed by Manish Gandhi. The play is set to premiere on June 6 in Delhi at Max Muller Bhavan, followed by a June 10 show in Mumbai at Prithvi Theatre, in celebration of Pride Month.

About the Play:
Cock is an explosive, emotionally charged narrative that explores themes of identity, sexuality, and the fluidity of love. Known for its raw emotional depth and unfiltered storytelling, the play challenges societal norms and personal insecurities head-on.
Shweta Tripathi on Becoming a Producer:
Sharing her motivation, Shweta said,
“Theatre has always been my first love. It’s raw, immediate, and leaves no space to hide—from the audience or from the truth. Producing a play like Cock is a personal and creative decision born out of my belief that storytelling should reflect the world in all its complexity and beauty.”
She further emphasized the timeliness and relevance of the story, adding,
“We are living in a time where people are finally feeling empowered to own their identities, and Cock doesn’t shy away from the discomfort or the beauty of that journey. It’s messy, human, and real… I want to be part of stories that make you uncomfortable in the best way—stories that spark conversations, empathy, and perhaps even change.”
Cast and Creative Team:
The play features a compelling ensemble cast including:
- Rytasha Rathore
- Tanmay Dhanania
- Sahir Mehta
- Harssh Singh
With a bold storyline and a powerful team behind it, Cock promises to be a groundbreaking theatrical experience that reflects the emotional complexity and fluidity of modern relationships.
