July 21, 2025: Aamir Khan’s latest film, Sitaare Zameen Par is proving to be a quiet success story at the Indian box office, maintaining its theatrical run into its fifth week despite a crowded release schedule and competition from new blockbusters. The film, directed by RS Prasanna, entered its fifth week on Friday, July 18, showcasing remarkable resilience.

Despite an overall industry slowdown and facing off against both major Bollywood and Hollywood titles, “Sitaare Zameen Par” continues to resonate with audiences. This past weekend, it notably braved the “Saiyaara” storm, another significant release, to record a respectable collection.
While the film has shown signs of slowing down since crossing the ₹160 crore mark in India, its sustained presence in cinemas is a testament to Aamir Khan’s “no OTT” (Over-The-Top) streaming policy, the long-term impact of which remains keenly observed by the industry.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, “Sitaare Zameen Par” saw a surprising uptick in its performance on Sunday, Day 31, collecting ₹1.33 crore.1 This marks a notable increase, especially considering the film’s collections had been predominantly in lakhs over the preceding week. The movie’s cumulative total domestic business now stands at ₹165.49 crore.
Globally, “Sitaare Zameen Par” has also performed strongly, accumulating a total of ₹262.75 crore in 31 days. This includes an overseas collection of ₹65.25 crore, complementing its India gross of ₹197.5 crore.2 The sustained audience interest, even weeks after its release, points towards positive word-of-mouth driving its extended theatrical run.
