Veteran playback singer Sonu Nigam has opened up about a painful health condition that he is currently battling, revealing that he has been suffering from pinched nerves and undergoing extensive medical treatment over the past week.
In a video shared on social media ahead of a live performance in Mumbai, the singer spoke candidly about his health struggles, saying he has been undergoing multiple diagnostic tests, including MRI and CT scans, to determine the cause of the problem.
“My nerves are pinched. I have been taking MRI and CT scans for a week. I have been taking a lot of medicines,” Sonu Nigam said in the video.
The singer also revealed that physiotherapy sessions have been particularly challenging due to the severity of the pain. To manage the discomfort, he is currently relying on painkillers prescribed by doctors.
“Physiotherapy was very painful. I am taking painkillers now. Due to that, my throat is also a little heavy,” he said.
For a singer whose profession depends heavily on vocal performance, any impact on the throat can be a significant concern. Sonu explained that the medication being used to relax the affected muscles has also affected his voice, making his throat feel heavier than usual.
Despite the health setback, the acclaimed singer made it clear that he has no intention of cancelling his scheduled concert. Sonu said he is eager to return to the stage after a long time and remains committed to performing for his fans.
Although the physical pain and treatment have posed challenges, he assured supporters that he would go ahead with the show and honour his professional commitments.
