Reality TV personality and Bigg Boss 19 contestant Tanya Mittal has strongly criticised a journalist after being referred to as a “sasti copy” of socialite and Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives star Shalini Passi. Calling the remark “sexist commentary,” Tanya questioned how a media platform could use such language while covering a woman and urged journalists to focus on facts rather than sensational insults.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Tanya expressed her disappointment, stating that comparing one woman to another in a derogatory manner was neither fair nor professional. She asserted that she is “no one’s copy” and emphasized that her journey has been built through years of determination and hard work. According to Tanya, dismissive labels undermine the efforts of women who have worked independently to build their careers.

Sharing details of her personal journey, Tanya recalled that she began her entrepreneurial career nearly a decade ago by selling greeting cards worth ₹150. She revealed that she had left her education and gone against her family’s wishes to avoid an early marriage, choosing instead to pursue her ambitions despite facing emotional and financial challenges. She said the path was lonely and difficult, but she remained committed to achieving her goals.
The influencer also reflected on the criticism she received over the years, including backlash for creating temple-related content and her appearance on Bigg Boss 19. Tanya claimed that she faced trolling, lost professional opportunities, and endured widespread criticism without receiving public support. Despite those experiences, she said she continued moving forward through persistence and resilience.
In her concluding remarks, Tanya urged media platforms to understand the stories behind public figures before passing judgment. She maintained that years of struggle and dedication cannot be erased by online trolling or disrespectful comments, reiterating her appeal for responsible journalism that highlights achievements instead of resorting to personal attacks for attention.
