The Odyssey Box Office Collection Day 2: Christopher Nolan’s Film Inches Closer To ₹50 Crore in India

Christopher Nolan’s much-awaited epic The Odyssey is enjoying a successful run at the Indian box office. Starring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson and Zendaya, the film has witnessed a healthy jump in collections on its second day, moving closer to the ₹50 crore mark in India.

Released on July 17, The Odyssey collected an estimated ₹22 crore net across all languages on Day 2, registering a 26.4 per cent growth over its opening-day earnings of ₹17.40 crore net. The strong Saturday performance indicates positive word-of-mouth and sustained audience interest in Christopher Nolan’s latest cinematic spectacle.

With two days of business completed, the film’s total India net collection now stands at ₹39.40 crore, while its India gross has reached ₹47.03 crore. Going by the current trend, The Odyssey is expected to comfortably cross the ₹50 crore gross milestone during its third day at the Indian box office.

The English version remained the biggest contributor to the film’s earnings, collecting ₹17.75 crore on Saturday. The Hindi dubbed version earned ₹2.35 crore, while the Telugu version contributed ₹1.15 crore and the Tamil version added ₹0.75 crore. The film was screened across 8,791 shows nationwide, reflecting its massive release footprint.

Reportedly mounted on a staggering budget of approximately ₹2,175 crore, The Odyssey ranks among Christopher Nolan’s most ambitious and expensive films. While its Indian box office performance has been impressive for a Hollywood release, the global theatrical run will play a crucial role in recovering the film’s enormous production cost.

The Free Press Journal awarded The Odyssey 3.5 out of 5 stars, praising its breathtaking visuals, grand scale and powerful performances. The review described the film as a cinematic experience best enjoyed on an IMAX screen, highlighting Nolan’s signature storytelling and technical brilliance.

With positive audience response and strong weekend momentum, The Odyssey appears well-positioned for another impressive day at the Indian box office.
