The Weeknd Delays Album Release And Cancels Concert Due To LA Wildfires

January 14, 2025: The Weeknd has announced the cancellation of his upcoming concert at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, scheduled for January 25, due to the devastating wildfires currently affecting the region.

The artist took to social media to express his concern, stating, "Out of respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles County, I am cancelling the Rose Bowl concert originally scheduled for January 25th." He added that his thoughts were with everyone impacted by the ongoing crisis.

In addition to the concert cancellation, The Weeknd also revealed that the release of his highly anticipated album Hurry Up Tomorrow will be delayed until January 31. He explained that his decision was driven by the need to support the recovery of the affected communities, stating, "My focus remains on supporting the recovery of these communities and aiding its incredible people as they rebuild."

The wildfires in Los Angeles County have claimed the lives of at least 24 people and forced the evacuation of over 92,000 residents, with an additional 89,000 under evacuation warnings. The Weeknd's album Hurry Up Tomorrow is the final part of a trilogy following his 2020 album After Hours. The album is expected to be accompanied by a film of the same name, set for release in May, featuring The Weeknd, Jenna Ortega, and Barry Keoghan.

The Weeknd also announced plans for a world tour following the album's release.
