Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor-turned-politician Vijay visited actor Ajith Kumar’s residence in Chennai on Saturday to offer condolences after the passing of Ajith’s mother, Mohini Mani. Actress Trisha Krishnan was also seen accompanying Vijay during the visit.
Videos circulating on social media showed Vijay arriving at Ajith’s home amid tight security arrangements. As he stepped out of the vehicle, he was seen warmly greeting and hugging Ajith before spending time with the grieving family inside the residence.
Trisha, dressed in a simple black salwar suit, was also seen paying her respects and offering condolences to the family.
Vijay And Ajith’s Long Association
The visit has drawn attention because of Vijay and Ajith’s long-standing bond in the Tamil film industry. While fans have often compared the two stars over the years, both actors have publicly shown mutual respect for each other.
Vijay and Ajith had appeared together in the 1995 film Rajavin Parvaiyile, which remains the only movie featuring both stars together on screen. Reports earlier this month also claimed that Ajith personally congratulated Vijay after his Tamil Nadu election victory.
Trisha Shares Close Professional Bond With Ajith
Trisha Krishnan has also shared a strong professional association with Ajith Kumar over the years. The actress has worked with him in films like Ji, Yennai Arindhaal and Vidaamuyarchi.
Their friendship off-screen has often been noticed through interviews, public appearances and social media interactions.
Ajith Kumar’s Mother Passed Away At 89
Ajith Kumar’s family confirmed the death of Mohini Mani on May 30 through an official statement issued by family member Anil Kumar.
According to the statement, she passed away peacefully in her sleep after facing health-related issues for some time. She was 89 years old.
The statement read, “Our mother, Mohini Mani, passed away early this morning, in her sleep, after a period of declining health. We are grateful for the care and support provided to her and our family.”
The family has requested privacy during this difficult period and confirmed that the last rites will be conducted privately.
