The Madhya Pradesh government has informed the High Court that post-mortem findings in the death case of model-actor Twisha Sharma indicate she may have been subjected to physical cruelty before her death, according to a report by .

During court proceedings challenging the anticipatory bail granted to Twisha’s mother-in-law, retired judge Giribala Singh, the state prosecution submitted that injuries found on Twisha’s body could have resulted from “a scuffle or struggle” prior to her death.

The prosecution also alleged that Twisha was repeatedly taunted by her in-laws over the wedding expenses borne by her family, claiming they were considered “not enough”.

State Cites Ante-Mortem Injuries As Key Evidence

During arguments seeking cancellation of Giribala Singh’s pre-arrest bail, the prosecution presented medical findings highlighting injuries on Twisha’s wrist, elbow and head.

According to the state government, the post-mortem report confirmed that the injuries were ante-mortem in nature, meaning they were sustained before death.

Rejecting the defence’s claims, the prosecution argued that the injuries could not have occurred after death or while the body was being shifted. The state further told the court that the medical report specifically ruled out those possibilities.

Twisha Sharma Found Dead At Matrimonial Home

Former model and actor Twisha Sharma was found dead at her matrimonial home in Bhopal on May 12, sparking a major dowry death investigation involving her husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh.

The case has drawn national attention amid allegations of domestic abuse, mental harassment and dowry-related cruelty.

Government Accuses Former Judge Of Tampering With Evidence

The Madhya Pradesh government has also accused Giribala Singh of tampering with evidence, leaking CCTV footage and compromising the crime scene after Twisha’s death.

Based on these allegations, the state has sought cancellation of the anticipatory bail granted to the retired judge.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has now issued notices on petitions challenging the anticipatory bail order.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Twisha Sharma’s death continues, with multiple agencies examining medical reports, digital evidence and witness statements.
