A social media controversy has erupted after Instagram influencer Varun Dhawan was accused of orchestrating fake reviews for his upcoming film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.
The allegation was made by influencer Simran Bhat, whose Reel describing the incident quickly gained traction online. The claim sparked a direct response from the actor and triggered a public exchange between the two.
Influencer Claims She Was Asked To Give Scripted Review
Simran said the alleged incident took place at Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, where she and her friend were reportedly approached by two individuals asking them to review the teaser of Varun Dhawan’s film.
According to her, she declined initially because she had not watched the teaser.
She recounted in the video that the individuals insisted she could still give a review and even offered to tell her what to say. Simran questioned how a review could be genuine if the content was scripted.
She further claimed that the individuals encouraged her to watch the teaser immediately, but she declined due to time constraints.
Expressing disbelief over the situation, she remarked that it seemed unusual for a major star to allegedly rely on scripted feedback to promote a film.
Varun Dhawan Responds To Viral Claim
Varun Dhawan responded directly in the comments section of Simran’s Reel, appearing to dismiss the allegation.
He wrote:
“Hope you get the views you really want with this video.”
Simran responded to the comment, stating that she did not need controversy to gain attention and was already satisfied with her engagement levels on social media.
She also reshared his comment on her Instagram Stories and maintained that the incident she described was genuine.
Simran further suggested that the actor should verify the matter with his public relations team, claiming that such actions—if true—could negatively affect his image.
Alleged Deleted Comment Adds To Controversy
The influencer also shared a screenshot of what she claimed was a deleted comment from the actor. The alleged comment suggested that she had assumed the individuals approached her because of instructions from the actor.
Questioning why the comment was removed, she posted another message asking why it had been deleted, further fuelling speculation among social media users.
As of now, there has been no official statement from Varun Dhawan’s team addressing the influencer’s claims in detail.
