Just days ahead of its theatrical release, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has landed in controversy after the film’s trailer launch event in Mumbai was abruptly cancelled on Thursday.
The much-anticipated event, which was expected to unveil the trailer of the David Dhawan directorial in a grand manner, was reportedly called off at the last minute.
Makers Blame Technical Difficulties
Soon after the cancellation, the film’s team issued an official statement on social media, attributing the sudden change to unforeseen technical issues.
According to the statement, the makers apologised for the inconvenience and assured fans that the trailer would be shared soon. However, no revised launch date has been announced yet.

The cancellation comes amid an ongoing legal dispute involving the remix version of the song “Chunari Chunari,” originally featured in the 1999 film Biwi No.1.
Producer Vashu Bhagnani and Pooja Entertainment reportedly objected to the alleged unauthorised use of the track.
In response to the controversy, Tips Music Limited clarified that it legally owns the rights to the music through a “valid and binding agreement.” The company also described the allegations as “malicious” and intended to damage its reputation.
Lawyer Questions ‘Technical Glitch’ Explanation
Advocate VK Dubey, representing Pooja Entertainment, questioned the makers’ explanation behind the sudden cancellation.
According to him, calling the issue a “technical glitch” was allegedly an attempt to divert attention from the real controversy surrounding the copyright dispute.
He further claimed that legal proceedings involving allegations such as copyright infringement, cheating, criminal breach of trust and conspiracy are currently under judicial consideration.
Dubey also alleged that court notices had been issued to David Dhawan and individuals associated with Tips Industries.
Release Date And Cast
Despite the controversy, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is currently scheduled to release in theatres on June 5.
