Actor says on-set accident never derailed his Bollywood career

January 21, 2026: Actor Vivek Oberoi has finally addressed long-standing rumours linking his reduced presence in Bollywood to a serious on-set injury. In a detailed statement released on Tuesday, Vivek dismissed claims that an accident forced him to step away from physically demanding roles or altered his career path. He clarified that while the injury did occur during the shooting of Yuva in 2004, it never became a hurdle in his professional journey.

Recalling the incident, Vivek said the accident was severe and involved multiple fractures, requiring surgery and the insertion of an 18-inch titanium rod in his leg. He described the recovery as physically and mentally challenging but credited his swift rehabilitation to expert medical care and physiotherapy. Vivek said he regained full mobility within three months, allowing him to return to action sequences, dance routines, and demanding performances without limitations.

Calling the episode a brief setback, the actor stressed that it did not slow him down creatively or professionally. He pointed to several physically intense films he completed after the accident, including Omkara, Shootout at Lokhandwala, Mission Istanbul, Prince, and Krrish 3, as proof of his recovery. On the work front, Vivek was last seen in Mastii 4 and will next appear in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, starring Prabhas, Triptii Dimri, and Prakash Raj.
