Ahmed Khan’s much-awaited comedy entertainer Welcome To The Jungle has made a decent start at the Indian box office, collecting ₹15 crore on its opening day. Released on Friday, the film features a star-studded ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and several other popular actors.

According to early trade estimates, the film earned ₹15 crore on Day 1, following paid preview collections of ₹3.75 crore on Thursday. This brings the movie’s total domestic earnings to ₹18.75 crore. While the opening is considered respectable, industry analysts expected the big-budget entertainer to cross the ₹20 crore mark on its first day.
Made on an estimated budget of ₹250–300 crore, Welcome To The Jungle now faces the challenge of maintaining strong momentum over the weekend. Positive reviews and favorable word-of-mouth are expected to boost collections over Saturday and Sunday, which could significantly improve the film’s first weekend performance.

The film has performed better than Akshay Kumar’s previous release, Bhooth Bangla, which earned ₹12.25 crore on its opening day after collecting ₹3.75 crore from paid previews. However, with a production budget reportedly around ₹120 crore, Bhooth Bangla had comparatively lower financial expectations than Welcome To The Jungle.
Critics have largely praised the film’s entertaining and humorous approach. Many reviewers have highlighted its laugh-out-loud comedy, energetic performances, and ensemble cast as key strengths. While the storyline may not focus on realism, audiences looking for light-hearted entertainment have responded positively, giving the film a strong chance to witness healthy growth during its opening weekend.
With positive audience feedback and the advantage of the weekend, all eyes are now on whether Welcome To The Jungle can register a substantial jump in collections and move closer to recovering its massive production cost.
