Comedian Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent Season 2 has made a strong comeback, but the data shows a clear divide in audience preference between YouTube and Netflix. The opening episode of the new season, featuring Alpha stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, has turned into a massive hit on YouTube while delivering significantly lower numbers on Netflix.

Released on June 20, the first episode has already amassed a staggering 47 million views on Samay Raina’s official YouTube channel within just four days. In sharp contrast, the same episode has managed only 2.2 million views on Netflix, accounting for less than 5% of its YouTube performance.

The show, which now follows a dual-release strategy on YouTube and Netflix, maintains identical format and runtime across both platforms. However, the audience response highlights YouTube’s continued dominance in the Indian digital entertainment space, especially for creator-driven content.

According to Netflix’s official Tudum data, the episode currently ranks seventh on the Global Top 10 Non-English Shows list. It should be noted that Netflix measures “views” differently, calculating them based on total hours watched divided by runtime rather than individual viewers, which can affect direct comparisons with YouTube metrics.

Despite the difference in numbers, India’s Got Latent Season 2 has maintained strong buzz across platforms. The first season, which was exclusively available on YouTube, averaged between 20 to 25 million views per episode, indicating that the new season has already outperformed its earlier run on the platform.

The inclusion of Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in the premiere episode further amplified attention, making it one of the most widely discussed digital entertainment releases of the week.

The show continues to stream weekly and remains committed to its uncensored format, featuring edgy humour and unfiltered commentary. Samay Raina has previously described the show as “no filter,” promising audiences an unrestrained entertainment experience across platforms.

However, the series has also been surrounded by controversy. In 2025, remarks made by Ranveer Allahbadia during an episode sparked widespread backlash, leading to multiple FIRs against him, Samay Raina, and other panelists including Ashish Chanchlani and Apoorva Mukhija. Following the controversy, several episodes were removed from YouTube.

Samay Raina later returned with his stand-up special Still Alive in April, where he addressed the incident, its emotional impact, and his journey through the backlash.

Despite past controversies, India’s Got Latent continues to generate strong engagement, reaffirming its position as one of the most talked-about digital shows in India’s evolving creator ecosystem.
