New Delhi [India]: Even though the Rajasthan assembly elections are around the corner, the Aam Adami Party (AAP) is yet to decide whether the party will fight the crucial polls alone or with INDIA– Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance whom the party is a part of.
Talking to media, AAP’s Rajasthan in-charge Vinay Mishra said that the state unit of the party is, however, ready to contest all seats in the upcoming polls.
“Our state unit is completely ready to contest on all the seats in the Vidhan Sabha election. Now the decision will be taken by the party high command whether we will fight alone or in alliance,” Mishra said on Friday.
He further said that the party has constituted teams of 11 people each for every village.
“Our state unit in Rajasthan is fully prepared for the elections. Getting down on the ground, we are doing a good job. We are forming a team of 11-11 people in every village. On August 22, I have called the state president here. We will finalize the first list of candidates in a meeting with General Secretary Sandeep Pathak and hand it over to Arvind Kejriwal.
Now Arvind Kejriwal has to decide when he will declare. We will try to release the first list of candidates this month itself,” he added.
Mishra also said that the party has divided the assembly seats of the entire Rajasthan into three categories—A, B and C.
“The in charge of each seat will be announced who will ultimately emerge as a candidate at the time of the election,” Mishra said.
“We have divided the assembly seats of entire Rajasthan into three categories A B and C. Category A is the one where our candidates are ready to fight the elections with full strength and the number of such seats is 70. B denotes another category related to the confusion but the preparation is full-fledged.
The third category of C implies that no candidate has come forward to contest and the party’s endeavour is to transform category C into category A soon,” the AAP leader said.
He also said that the state unit of the party is also planning a campaign for Arvind Kejriwal in Rajasthan.
“Arvind Kejriwal’s town hall meeting is to be held in Jaipur. Our 7 co-incharges are going to start the journey of change in Rajasthan,” he added.
