AIMIM leader raises concerns over minority rights, governance, and constitutional values
April 24, 2026: Asaduddin Owaisi, president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, said India cannot achieve its goal of becoming a “Vishwaguru” unless justice is ensured for Muslims. Addressing a rally in Bhuj, he emphasized that equality and rights for minorities are essential for the country’s global aspirations.
Owaisi accused both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Indian National Congress of spreading misinformation about AIMIM, alleging coordination with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He stressed that democracy must be strengthened through adherence to constitutional values laid down by B. R. Ambedkar, warning that liberty, equality, justice, and fraternity would remain incomplete without stronger minority leadership.
He also criticised policies of the central government led by Narendra Modi, including the Citizenship Amendment Act and the law on Triple Talaq, calling them discriminatory. Highlighting AIMIM’s work in Hyderabad, Owaisi pointed to initiatives in education and healthcare, while rejecting allegations that his party indirectly benefits the BJP.
