May 3, 2026: In a dramatic rescue in Siddharthnagar, two young men stranded atop a water tank for nearly 16 hours were safely evacuated with the help of an Indian Army helicopter. The youths had been stuck at a dangerous height, repeatedly calling for help as large crowds gathered below.

Local authorities made several attempts to rescue them but failed due to the height and limited access to the structure. Following intervention by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Army was called in from Gorakhpur. A helicopter was deployed to carry out the operation under challenging conditions.

In a swift 15-minute mission, rescue personnel used ropes and a ladder system to safely bring down both individuals. The youths were then airlifted to Gorakhpur for medical evaluation. The operation highlighted a coordinated and timely response, bringing relief after hours of tension and uncertainty.
