Arvind Kejriwal, along with top AAP leaders, stages a symbolic protest at Rajghat as political and legal tensions escalate over the liquor policy case.

April 28, 2026: Arvind Kejriwal, accompanied by Manish Sisodia and Atishi, reached Rajghat to stage a symbolic “satyagraha.” The move comes amid intensifying legal and political tensions linked to the liquor policy case, with AAP leaders expressing distrust in judicial proceedings and choosing a Gandhian mode of protest.

The protest is being seen as both a political and emotional outreach, aimed at reinforcing unity within the party after recent setbacks, including defections. AAP leaders have framed the demonstration as a stand against what they call unfair targeting, while invoking the principles of Mahatma Gandhi.

The BJP, however, has strongly criticised the move, arguing that no accused can question the judicial process or selectively refuse court appearances. The development has further escalated the political confrontation between AAP and BJP, with Kejriwal’s Rajghat appearance seen as an attempt to regain public support amid mounting challenges.
