April 27, 2026: A shocking incident in Banswara turned violent after a 36-year-old man, Govind Chhagan, was hacked to death by a group of seven to eight people in Tamatia village. The victim, belonging to the Mahida tribal community, was allegedly attacked with an axe by members of the Katara community while returning from a court hearing related to an ongoing dispute between the families. The rivalry reportedly began after a disagreement over his sister’s relationship and marriage.
