The BJP and RSS are preparing an extensive public outreach campaign to counter the fallout of the Ram Temple donation

July 8, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) are preparing a large-scale public outreach campaign to address concerns arising from the Ram Temple donation controversy. According to party sources, the initiative aims to reassure devotees, counter Opposition allegations, and prevent the issue from affecting the BJP’s electoral prospects in Uttar Pradesh. The RSS is also considering a door-to-door campaign to assure donors that temple offerings remain secure and that any irregularities are being thoroughly investigated.

With the Opposition expected to raise the matter during the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament, the BJP has instructed its leaders, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, to highlight the swift action taken by the Centre and the state government. Party leaders have pointed to the ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe, the registration of cases against the accused, and the resignations of key Trust officials, including Champat Rai and Anil Mishra. The BJP has accused Opposition parties of politicising an issue linked to public faith for electoral gains.

The RSS has also stepped up efforts to defend the temple’s management, with discussions underway to personally meet major donors and reassure them about the safety of their contributions. Party leaders acknowledged that the controversy briefly affected both donations and footfall at the temple, making public confidence a priority. As the Ram Temple remains a key political and cultural symbol, both the BJP and RSS are seeking to remove doubts surrounding the donation row while the investigation continues.
