Inspector and constable injured as accused linked to April 25 triple murder dies after exchange of fire

April 30, 2026: In a major operation in Bulandshahr, police shot dead ₹50,000-rewarded accused Jeetu Saini in an encounter in the Khurja area. The accused was the main suspect in a triple murder case that took place on April 25, which had triggered shock and outrage in the region.

According to police, the encounter occurred during a routine checking drive when Jeetu Saini allegedly tried to escape and opened fire on the police team. In the exchange, an inspector and a constable sustained bullet injuries and were rushed to a hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment and are reported to be stable.

Police said they retaliated in self-defense, critically injuring the accused, who was later taken to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Officials confirmed that he was the prime accused in the triple murder case, allegedly involving the killing of three friends during a birthday party dispute. Five other accused have already been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to trace the remaining absconders.
