The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is preparing to announce the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 shortly.

In a significant update for nearly 18 lakh students, Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj has confirmed that the results are expected to be declared in the third week of May 2026.

This announcement aims to put an end to the rising anxiety among candidates who appeared for the board examinations earlier this year. Once the link is activated, students can access their scorecards on the official portals: cbse.gov.in and results.cbse.nic.in.

Official Clarification on Evaluation Process

Addressing recent concerns, Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj dismissed social media rumors regarding technical glitches in the evaluation system. In an interview, he emphasized that media reports flagging issues with the newly introduced digital system are “far away from facts.” He urged students and parents to ignore unverified news portals and rely solely on official CBSE communiqués. The board has assured a smooth and error-free processing of results, ensuring that the academic transition for students to higher education remains unaffected.

How to Access the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026

To ensure seamless access despite the expected heavy web traffic, CBSE has enabled multiple digital platforms. Students will need their Roll Number, School Number, and Admit Card ID to log in.

Available Platforms:

  • Official Websites: results.cbse.nic.in, cbse.gov.in, and cbse.nic.in.
  • DigiLocker: Digital marksheets can be accessed by signing in with a registered mobile number or Aadhaar-linked account.
  • UMANG App: Mobile users can download the app to view results on the go.
  • SMS & IVRS: Alternative offline services will be available for students in areas with low internet connectivity.

Provisional Marksheets and Re-evaluation

It is important to note that the result downloaded online will be provisional. Students must collect their original passing certificates and marksheets from their respective schools at a later date. For those unsatisfied with their scores, the board will open the window for verification of marks, re-checking, and re-evaluation shortly after the result declaration. Detailed guidelines for these processes, along with the pass percentage and topper highlights, will be shared alongside the final announcement.
